I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.

One thing that stuck with me from AI training was the importance of an indemnification clause. But if the vendor goes out of business it won’t matter, you’ll still be on the hook. I would maybe stick with real lawyers who care about their law license and have that motivation to give good advice.

Yeah, both were bought by billionaires and transformed into propaganda platforms. I hope to see both undergo the same transformation that The Onion has undergone; motivated idealists buy the corpse from the vulture capitalists and rise from the ashes. I know it’s unlikely but I can dream.

I guarantee the producers and the on-air haircuts at Fox are frustrated they can’t tell the stories they want because they can’t get the footage they need.

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

Looking at the world economy for a moment this morning. 🇷🇺 is set for economic collapse, which will hurt 🇨🇳 and 🇮🇳. I mean, we want that, Slava Ukraini! But still. The West is riding a huge AI bubble. The world economy doesn’t look good. Any economists here to cheer me up? Or is it as bad as it looks?

I don't know whether it's unhinged, but it's certainly divisive:

I believe all novels should have illustrations in them again. Like etchings in Dickens, or Japanese Light Novels.

Every single novel would benefit. Artists would thrive. We all win.

Yeah. The Lawrence MA Bread and Roses textile strike was immigrants in tenement slums being paid starvation wages. Immigrants from lots of countries. When the textile mills were unionized the owners moved the industry to Appalachia looking for workers desperate enough to accept those low low wages.

Neuromancer also has the scene where each pay phone in the bank of pay phones rings once as he walks past. When was the last time you saw one of those long banks of pay phones? They are a relic. If you see a public pay phone at all, it is a single phone, usually non-working.

I first saw Cabaret as a student production at FSU, I think it was 1991 but not sure. It was great, powerful. My wife and I saw it in NYC shortly after the election some months ago and it blew me away, it was absolutely fantastic. And I also don’t like musicals.

Not gonna link the troll but Bari Weiss clearly represents “thought police” more than 100,000 Bluesky leftists scolding you for writing a defense of Weiss ever will, and ignoring that reality is clearly designed to curry the favor of thought police. You’re not a free thinker, you’re the boot licker.

If you think you know why US newspapers died, this feature documentary now streaming for free on PBS might surprise you. It wasn't the Internet. Newspapers were specifically targeted by vulture capitalists.

I composed the score for the film, which features electric cello & Crowfoot guitars.
Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink
A handful of journalists rebel against a hedge fund that is gutting newspapers nationwide.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?

This is really smart. Amazed at the hysteria over the ascendance of a woman entrepreneur who clearly knows how to cover and sell news and who's not afraid to take on a mob. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Should the New York Times be sold to Pennysaver and its editors sent to work in Amazon warehouses? It depends on who you ask.

The reason they can’t replace Obamacare is because the ACA is THEIR PLAN. Obama got the Republican plan passed thinking, erroneously, that they would accept their own plan. We should have done single payer. This is and will always be absolutely ridiculous.

Jury nullification is powerful. I’ve seen it happen, it’s always kind of a surprise as the defense attorney when it actually works. The downside is that juries can also nullify for awful reasons.
