For them just knowing that a space exists where they’re loved and thought of as people instead of the roles they’ve been pushed into is already a gift in and of itself. Hien doesn’t have to keep up his kingly persona and Bram doesn’t have to be a hero. They have a place to simply be themselves.

They exchange letters when they’re apart and Bram comes back to Doma whenever he’s able. Sometimes he stays for a few weeks and sometimes it’s just a day or two. They make do with what they have and what their schedules allow. Neither of them feels the need to see other people. It’s enough.

WoL!Bram and Hien are long distance most of the time. It works for them. Neither of them is terribly clingy and both of them are extremely invested in their own journeys. They miss each other and think of each other as their soft landings, but being together all the time isn’t something they need.
