Als die Zeit ausging und der rote Balken sich dem Ende näherte, da hab ich dann irgendwann entschlossen - wenn es keine splosion am Ende gibt (wenn schon Drama dann aber richtig!), dann geb ich Daumen runter.

No doubt he was loaded with adrenalin and perhaps didn't know how close by other Russians were, but this clearly was not a heroic or merciful action. Could've and should've taken the guy alive.
