RAJU: Last week you were very critical of Biden's use of the autopen. But Trump admitted on 60 Minutes to not knowing he pardoned a crypto billionaire who pleaded guilty to money laundering. Does that also concern you?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that. I didn't see it. I'm not sure.

If I had the opportunity, says Judge Michael Luttig; "I would tell the Chief Justice that he is presiding over the end of the rule of law in America. That's what he is doing."

For anyone concerned with what remains of US democracy, this is a must listen podcast.

Holder: The Supreme Court is a broken institution. And it’s something that has to be part of the national conversation in ’26 and in ’28.

If there is a Democratic trifecta in 2028—and I think the possibility of that is pretty good—Supreme Court reform has to be on the table.

if there was a rich person with the will, you could build the most incredible news organization that has ever existed just from the wreckage of this year alone.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.

Since it looks like Canada is getting ready to follow the US lead on regulating/legitimizing stablecoins, it’s worth highlighting the systemic risks this could create.
Also: In terms of overall objectives, innovation in finance should *always* come second to stability.
The Genius Act Raised The Odds Of A Crisis. No Bank Is Immune.
A broad adoption of stablecoins will threaten the stability of the entire financial system, Mark Copelovitch writes in a guest commentary.

Y’all acting like you’ve never seen a 79 year-old drug addict who spent decades assaulting under age girls, throw some half-naked chics in a martini glass at his Palm Beach resort while he steals SNAP benefits from 42 million folks and sends soldiers into American cities before?

ICE...in its current form...is not a "law enforcement agency" that should exist in any country on earth. Everything about the way they are operating is light-years away from being consistent with what this country is about. We have seen evidence that many of the people employed by ICE are bad news.
