OK my weirdest anti-AI take is that is you are looking for haircuts online (I know, shut up) all the 'models' are AI images with incredibly long necks and freak cheekbones, so unless you are a malnourished giraffe, this is not at all helpful.

Today in “AI is a scourge”: I’m in an embroidery group on Facebook, and it feels like every day brings a new person who says “I bought this pattern on Etsy but it didn’t come with instructions and I don’t understand how they got this effect”

How to tell if yr embroidery pattern is fake / AI. (JFC these absolute FUCKERS.)
electricland.bsky.social
Should you find yourself in a similar position, this video has a lot of tells to watch for. I’d add:
• fabric looks fake/lines are wobbly
• pattern doesn’t come with instructions (what are you paying for in that case?)

Kitty is home with medications to improve his appetite & reduce nausea. Has a small heart murmur that could just be caused by stress, but is something to keep an eye on & if he doesn't eat tonight/tomorrow we'll need more advanced tests

This was another $240 soooo toss a coin to your writer?

Cat update: He only ate one of his two usual meals yesterday & ate it very slowly, a few bites at a time. And today he only had three bites of breakfast. So we're taking him in to our usual vet this afternoon for a checkup

Send good vibes and also, if you can, money

Ooh y’all, her best friend is a copyright lawyer. She’s reading everyone’s comments and laughing. She’s begging her clients to ask her to sue one of us for stealing photos.

Most people: “that’s absurd, they can’t tell you what to do with a thing you make.”
One woman, on EVERY GODDAMN COMMENT: *this AI overview about stock photos*
No, you cannot give someone an image that you copied under a limited license because a limited license is personal and doesn't grant you the right to transfer or share the image. A limited license specifies who can use the image and for what purpose, and sharing it with another person would violate the terms of that agreement.
Understand your license
• What it covers: A limited license gives you permission for specific uses, such as publishing in a single magazine edition, but it doesn't give you ownership.
• What it doesn't cover: It does not give you the right to distribute, sell, or give copies to other people.

More from the wacky world of embroidery: someone in the same group found a pattern on Etsy whose creator stipulated that not only can you not copy and sell the pattern (fine), you can’t even *give the finished product to someone else*.

it’s amazing that it’s 2025 and people are still deluded enough to believe that age verification on the internet actually works

this was apparent to me when *I* was an extremely online child

My bff is a high school teacher and can verify that the (freshman) children are absolutely mobile gambling in high numbers, an activity that *already* has laws defining it as an adult-only activity requiring age verification

Spooky Season Reminder: Most "Halloween Black" food dye uses charcoal. Normally, it's safe to eat!

However:

Charcoal can NEUTRALIZE many types of medications!

If you're taking your meds (good for you!), make sure you consult your pharmacist to see if they might get neutralized!
