It bounced out of the glove and ricocheted off the wall before finally getting caught. Interacting with anything other than the player before being caught makes it a ball-in-play. Only outs were recorded in the infield.

Mariners body slam the Blue Jays to take a 2-0 lead in the ALCS…something I don’t think anyone expected coming in, especially after the 15 inning end to the ALDS Friday. Good for them! They’ve got the chance to seal the pennant at home, now.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I’m so tired of these apologias. The #Yankees may have “wasted” Judge’s prime, but that’s apparently not on the guy who assembled those teams. “Everyone’s time comes, but not yet” for the 27-year GM. “No guarantee someone else is better.” 16 years of failure. I’ll take my chances. Cripes. Fire both.

I’m a diehard Red Sox fan but am legitimately pleased that Aaron Judge didn’t record the final out of the ALDS. He had a great postseason and doesn’t deserve any part of the inevitable blame game to come.
