This year you get a cool ibis pin if you scan a bunch of QR codes on banners cleverly hidden around the convention. Someone spread photos of them before they even went out, so I've seen people just scanning their mates' phones. Game design

Every time I post a KS I discover a new type of crowdfunding scam. Apparently the latest one is pretending to back new campaigns for huge amounts of money to get them to email what I can only assume is some bullshit marketing business

Obvious scam: some guy pledging AU$ 750.00 to my new KS and commenting "You can reach me at axentech1(at)gmail(dot)com with your project details — I’d be glad to look into increasing my pledge to $1,500"

Every time I do a KS I'm spammed with emails for marketing services. Years ago the emails would mostly be "Your campaign is in DANGER and it will FAIL, ask me how to save it!" but now they're like "Hi! I'm Chuck Fondle. I saw your campaign and it looks very interesting! Would you like to chat?"
