Well yeah. He doesn't view the White House as a property of the people, he views it as a luxury hotel he now owns, and a luxury hotel needs a grand ballroom to be able to hold events. He's probably planning to lease out rooms in the White House, too.

Well, no, my friends are all artists, so they're all in the "reject nuance, LLMs are inherently evil, and can NEVER be used for good" camp. And when I say it's the capitalism making it a problem instead of the technology itself, they get mad at me.

the problem with the games market is that consumer spending in much of the west is now this insanely top-heavy game where the upper middle class are the only real spenders, in turn bottlenecking the whole industry into competing for the time of this 10% of the population with disposable income

That's what I've been trying to explain to my friends. It's not that there are no uses for them, it's that the uses are currently optimized for maximum shareholder profit, not actual progress, and that's a Problem.

Lots and lots of people have Harry Potter tattoos. And after JKR became queen of TERFs, lots of them have had them covered or removed to show they don't support her, and that's a silly pop culture thing. A Totenkopf tattoo is a whole different level, and Platner should know better.

The long and short of it is, it doesn't MATTER why Platner got a Nazi tattoo. Whether he ever believed in the ideology it represents or not doesn't matter. What matters is that he hasn't had it covered or removed in the MULTIPLE YEARS since he got it. He hasn't bothered to fix it. That's notable.

I agree. An Indiana Jones game where he has to thwart Sophia Hapgood's plans to, I dunno, summon the Zmei Gorynich to fuck up Russia, might be pretty interesting. It give some closure to the Sophia Hapgood plotline if she is the villain and gets eaten by a dragon she tried to control.

If people who got Harry Potter tattoos are willing to get them covered or removed now that Rowling is Queen of TERFs, there should be no reason he couldn't do the same with a symbol that's an even stronger declaration of allegiance to a toxic ideology.
