I am also a trans girl who could still use some help. I've gotten some gig work from a friend since losing my government job, but as all people doing freelance work know, a few gigs is not the same thing as a steady income. Anything helps. ko-fi.com/explorerrowan

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

Choosing to focus, on hearing the news of Rob Reiner's passing, to remember this moment where he was so overcome with joy and laughter that he - the director of the movie - was one of many people banished from the set in order to finish filming.
TIL nearly all of the "Miracle Max" scene from Princess Bride was improvised by Billy Crystal, and it took three ten hour days to shoot, because they couldn't get through his improv without everyone (cast and crew) laughing so hard it ruined the audio.

Mandy Patinkin bruised a rib holding it in.

Hey @democrats.org @democrats.senate.gov @housedemocrats.bsky.social @warren.senate.gov, you understand that by going along with this ridiculous bill, you're essentially ending free speech on the US internet, right? That you're giving Trump the keys to RAMPANT censorship tools?

It is, frankly, adorable when @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social is allowed to eat on camera and no one gives him shit for it. He could just have a Dropout show that's like "Lunch Break with Brennan" where he tries out different local restaurants for lunch and then talks about the food.

Since Polygon is leaving it out of the headline: Epic Games partnered with The Game Awards to put money into the pocket of a bigot who uses her wealth to further the genocide of trans people through lawsuits and legislation. Every 'free' game gives money directly to JKR, and they are complicit.

Like the "debuff" is that every week, two percent of your credits/gold/whatever goes to your parents. So every seven in-game days, you lose an utterly negligible amount of cash and get rewards which are just objectively really good items in-game.

They are nothing but thrilled to see you, love you, preserved all your old keepsakes for you, and want you to be safe. Their home is always open to you, no matter what, and they never judge you. It's fucking hilarious for a Bethesda game to let your character just...have a totally normal family.

Starfield is, overall, a really bad game. But the one very, very, funny thing they did was add a perk called "Happy Family" where you have a loving, supportive, mother and father who will send you gifts from time to time and just need a bit of help covering their rent so you make slightly less money

Nothing made clear to me how soulless the Democratic Party has become than watching California Gov. Gavin Newsom stage a photo op of him tearing down homeless people's tents right before the DNC this summer.

Huh. It's almost like when institutions stand up to that spineless coward fascist, he loses and folds. I sure wish more institutions would take note of that.
BREAKING: Seattle Children's Hospital successfully fought this summer to get DOJ's invasive trans care subpoena quashed.

The Seattle court partially unsealed the case this week.

This was the fourth, previously sealed case mentioned in this recent Law Dork report: www.lawdork.com/p/judges-doj...

I'm so sorry, centrist journalist working for a major newspaper or broadcaster, that your dedication to "neutrality" has propped up fascist and bigoted views. I know it's hard for you to hear that you've been an active participant in hate and cruelty, but it's time to learn from this and do better.

In terms of US politics, Bush v. Gore is the defining event of the century. It set the template: a ruthless right that instinctively seeks power & doesn't give a shit about rule of law...and a bunch of hapless, feckless octogenarian Dems worried about the good opinion of centrist opinion columnists.
The 25th anniversary of Bush v Gore is today. The conspiracy mongering & corruption of the GOP has been brewing for a long time.

Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh were all on Bush's legal team, where they pushed unfounded legal theories. SC justices were already enmeshed in voter fraud myths.
Here's Sandra Day O'Connor endorsing News Max levels of voter fraud conspiracies in the 2000 election.

Every single politician supporting this fucking thing needs to be shamed and protested regardless of who is it. A message should be sent that these online surveilance and censorship laws are not to be tolerated.

We really need to dial up the heat on this, just calling it doesn't cut it.
