I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
True patriots don't sow chaos. They provide a clear plan, build sufficient support, and only when a clear route to success exists, start the process. 2/2
#nigelfarage claiming #brexit being a failure isn't his fault annoys me.

1. The government at the time didn't want it.
2. There was no plan for it.
3. There was no credible team in place to implement it.
4. Only a tiny majority wanted it.

Failure was inevitable. He pushed for it anyway. 1/2

Farage, who was paid £189,000 in January to promote gold bullion in his spare time, is currently wanging on about how out of touch the Labour frontbench is. Ok

So refreshing to see a journalist challenging this nonsense. If the interviewer has done the research and is confident on the data they can shut this stuff down. The only reason these goons do it so often is because they mostly get away with it. Well done @sophyridge.bsky.social
This is beautifully argued.

Five parties on 15% or more. This is unprecedented in UK politics.

What it shows:

✅ No single party can speak for the whole country.

✅ Voters want real choice - not the lesser evil.

✅ British society has moved on from the two-party era. Now our voting system must follow.
Our latest Westminster voting intention (19-20 Oct) has the Greens on their highest figure ever recorded by YouGov

Reform UK: 26% (-1 from 12-13 Oct)
Labour: 20% (=)
Conservatives: 17% (=)
Lib Dems: 15% (-1)
Greens: 15% (+2)
SNP: 4% (+1)

Are you comfortable with a party supported by a small minority winning total power? It’s time for a politics that reflects the people.
We demand:

❌No more First Past the Post elections.

✅A proportional system where seats match votes.

It's Halloween and Westminster is looking spooky... 🎃💀

Here are some of the creatures haunting the House of Commons under First Past the Post:

"It’s spooky season, and we know what’s really spooky. Being haunted by a government that two-thirds of people didn’t vote for - and the spectre of an even less popular one waiting to take its place. Millions of voices unheard, buried in a graveyard of wasted votes."

In countries using proportional representation, parties are incentivised to work together collaboratively. They keep the 80% that works and try to fix the 20% that doesn't.

With FPTP, parties scrap it altogether and take years to implement a new process with lots of flaws.

"We have a five- or six-party-system trapped in the body of a two-party electoral system."

@timbale.bsky.social explains why multi-party politics is here to stay 👇

Voters want real choice. We need a proportional voting system that makes it possible.

A very, very good, clear analysis of bubble mechanics, both in the abstract & specific to AI, from @graceblakeley.substack.com, ending with a version of my mantra:

It’s not the bubble that you’ve got to worry about, it’s the bailout that might kill us.
