This is the view from the top of Woden Law, an Iron Age hillfort in the Scottish Borders. Below it is a Roman road known as Dere Street and in the distance are the Eildon Hills. This was the start point for my journey that inspired my recent book 'The Road to Mons Graupius'. #HillfortsWednesday
A view from the top of a hillfort. A road can be seen leading into the distance, as well as clusters of trees and hills on the horizon.

This is a very long thread... but I continue to see European politicians (EU and UK) failing to understand the changes in the world before 2025 thus not noticing that political turbulence has so far had very little actual impact on trade, and that their "solutions" aren't...

New - Europe’s 3-body problem: collapsing global order sparks hunt for new trajectory

I got to write about one of my favourite Chinese sci-fi novels. Europe, realising it can’t fix systemic chaos, is instead trying to shift its own orbit.

30 bombers & 230 missiles were destroyed over 2 & half years in exchange for promise 🇷🇺 would never invade.
