The law PROHIBITS people from doing things. It does not PREVENT people from doing things. "Illegal" does not mean "impossible." "Illegal" means "on a list of actions the government can, but is not required, to punish."

They wanted SotE to be a consistent challenge no matter what level you enter it at, and mostly succeeded, but the game does a bit of a poor job explaining how it works.

Doing SotE blind is *mostly* a good idea, the map is gorgeous, and getting lost in some random ass area is definitely a part of the experience. But I would look up how the progression works in SotE, with numbers, otherwise it can be unnecessarily frustrating IMO.

I always thought that it was actually kinda nice that Hollow Knight is a significantly easier introduction to the vague genre that is souls-likes. Not everyone has been playing games since they were four.

Like sure, I get why SotE is difficult almost to a mocking degree, but Silksong? A bit odd xD

Yeah it's a bit odd to watch. I am one of the people who found the main game too easy, but at the same time never expected nor even really wanted Silksong to cater to my difficult game loving ass.

Not that I'm unhappy about it either tbh.
