I’ve made a lot of progress to follow the lead of lexicographers and let definitions be descriptive and not prescriptive. Even “literally”! But “decimate” is one I just cannot abide. It’s such an extremely specific thing! It’s like if instead of “I got hurt” people said “I got defenestrated”

They’re called preacher cookies because the story goes they’re for when you see the preacher coming and don’t have anything prepared to give him as a snack so you make those real quick

For any fellow Americans, I looked it up and a British flapjack is like a sweet granola bar, or like a preacher cookie made with syrup and sugar instead of cocoa and peanut butter. Brits, I don’t know if you have preacher cookies or what you call them if you do, but they’re easy, fast, and great!

(American) The only place I’ve seen egg cups are at the occasional thrift shop or antique store. We just don’t use them except for the 4 Americans who poach eggs. We eat plenty of boiled eggs, but almost exclusively hard boiled. We also let them roll around the plate because, I dunno, liberty?

Just flashed back to my brother and me walking to 7-11 for slurpees, the comics spinner rack, and maybe an arcade game. 7-11 is still my favorite food (though not my body’s), but it’s no longer everything I need for a great day 😭
