Some of it might be the format (one of the winners, Maneet Chauhan, commented that the competition requires a lot of multitasking which is a skill that women are socialized to learn) but I'm certain some of it is just eliminating bias, whether conscious or unconscious.

Guy Fieri decided to do a cooking show that's judged blind - the judges not only don't know who cooked the dishes, they don't know who's competing. In six seasons, every finals round has been between two women compared to non-blind judging shows where 60-70% of winners are men.

("Let them eat cake" is misinformation/propaganda - it's a quote from Rousseau's Confessions book 6, attributed to "a great princess" and written in 1765 when Marie Antoinette was 9 years old and had never been to France.)
Particularly since they had LLMs at Google while I was working there (left in 2019) and they were (accurately) categorized as Other Bet expensive toys with people attempting to make the hilariously bad baked good recipes it was outputting.
Except the more accurate analogy for this situation, as far as I see it, would be owning a plot of land during a gold rush and renting it out rather than digging in it yourself. Which makes me intently skeptical of the quality of the plot of land.

Also, ayo @jay.bsky.team and the BlueSky team, if you’re gonna permaban Link and Palestinian aid accounts, it’s not a good look if you also don’t ban government accounts engaged in obvious violations of the Hatch Act, which is an actual federal law.
Out of curiosity, did you end up building a Pavitr Prabhakar deck? I built one that's pretty decent on the average case (cheap creatures, particularly ones that return themselves or other creatures), with Aluren for the occasional "I'm gonna just combo out now, thanks" option.
I haven't found one yet, but I've heard they do make the sound.
(see, for example, bskye.app which is a Bluesky frontend built to embed more smoothly in Discord, including ignoring the "require logged in accounts to see this post")

Bluesky's API is open, and it is currently (and potentially by design) impossible to make an actual Private account - it's up to a given frontend for Bluesky data to respect the current "require authentication to view this profile and its posts" flag.
I think I agree with David Gerard who says that the "AI is failing" pivot for VC looking for get-rich-quick miracles will be quantum computing; green tech is far too boring, practical, and incremental improvements to actually-functioning technology.
I used to work at Google, the Search algorithm IS an exception to "you can read and work on any of our code as long as an Owner approves it", it's siloed off into a need-to-know-only section because it's a trade secret that most employees aren't trusted to even know.
If it was actually as good as the hype, nobody would be selling you AI. It would be a closely guarded secret siloed in their "our competitive advantage" need-to-know-only tech vault.
The only reason it's reducing cost is because venture capital is shoveling a substantial portion of the US economy into running AI at a loss hoping that people will be helplessly addicted by the time they run out of money and have to start charging what AI actually costs.

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."
My roommate a decade ago had an XBox and tried to use the voice controls. The number of times he had to say "XBox go home" (to which I would add "... you're drunk") to get it to actually do it...

Happy John Brown’s Raid day to all who celebrate
Best case, it's another Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Windows+L situation; realistic case... I'm glad that I don't enjoy games that need anti-cheat, so thanks to Valve's effort on Proton/Vulkan I can just ditch Windows when they manage to make the experience worse than dealing with graphics drivers on Linux.
(That said, a friend of mine just bought a new laptop and it has a Copilot Button on the keyboard, so it might hopefully be more of a "press this button and we'll start listening" situation than always-on-mic? The Discord we're in helped re-map that key to be Not Copilot.)
Notably, back in 2017, Burger King vandalized Wikipedia and then ran ads that intentionally triggered Google Homes to get them to read the first result blurb (which was reliably Wikipedia results, including their vandalization) - Google blocked it from working within a few hours.
