Guys, I don’t mean to sound like this but there is a felon down the street making AI videos of himself as a king shitting on Americans and the American flag and he is literally tearing down the White House as we speak

Yeah. So The White House
is designated a National Historic Landmark.

That means:

It’s formally recognized as having exceptional national historical significance.

Any substantial changes, demolitions, or new construction affecting it are tightly restricted.

It’s not his house! WTF.
I miss really nice menswear stores. Great coats (love me a raglan sleeve) were overlooked and usually my size.

Stumbling over some book or film by chance is more likely to expand your mental horizons than dutifully watching what the algorithm chooses for you.
I’m gonna counterpoint this one: browsing was part of the fun. And browsing in the physical world is different from browsing in the virtual world.

The things that sucked about Blockbuster were primarily late fees and it being hard to find a new release on a Friday night.
Yeah, I think I see the problem here - it's not that the video store was good, it's that you miss being a teenager

Yesterday at #NoKings, I met a woman who works with the local anti-ICE “Home Depot Patrol,” and I’m going to make some time to stand a few watches over at my local Home Depot.

Springboards.
the massive scale of the No Kings protests, from the organizers’ perspectives, was ALWAYS about making it easy for people to people to go and meet organizers and organizations and mutual aid:

“Let this be a springboard, not the end of your journey.”

if you went, how are you doing so?

Telling moment: I was walking back from the rally, but a couple miles from it, carrying nothing but my gigantic American flag. An eight year old on his bike sees me with it and yells "No Kings!!" with absolute conviction.

My friends, they have lost the flag.

Just want to give a shout out to my 83 year old dad- normally conservative, a former SCOTUS law clerk for Rehnquist- who protested out in the rain this morning in St Louis. #NoKings

"I've told the story of Akromiya for 20 years. I’m telling it again now, because today is No King’s Day, and I am afraid that 'Antifa' is the American Akromiya: a fabricated entity made by state propagandists to persecute anyone who opposes the government."

Inventing Antifa
In 2005, the Uzbek government invented a group called “Akromiya” to justify massacring protesters. Now I worry the US government will do the same.
