Hiya! I'm Holden, generalist gamedev and cofounder at @turbobuttoninc.bsky.social where I make silly VR games like Floor Plan. Not just full games cancelled—entire characters and plot lines removed or changed, leaving less time for making the *rest of the game better*, to try avoiding a small and malicious contingent of voices.

I live in the most progressive city in the most progressive state, and the biggest barrier to passing progressive policies hasn't been Trump - it's our mayor and governor being so focused on their ambitions for higher office that they refuse to lead on anything that doesn't poll at 70% approval

Yup. Just servicing the interest on $20 billion of debt likely wipes out all of EA's net income and then some. It's gonna be painful.

A lot of people are (understandably) focused on the Saudi Arabia and Kushner part of this, but the far bigger immediate impact will come from the new private EA being on the hook for $20 billion in debt. That could mean mass layoffs, more aggressive monetization, and other big cost-cutting measures
