Bumped into the Two Ronnies last night - two neighbours’ dogs called Ronnie. Both friends of Eddie. There’s sausage Ronnie and fluffy Ronnie. Fluffy Ronnie’s mummy was in tears as he was ill and might have to be put to sleep today. I spent today fretting but just saw him and he’s fine. Woot woot!

Look, I am warning you. Do not click on an advert for frying pans on Instagram. It doesn't matter how curious you are. It doesn't matter how knackered you current pans are. All you will see for months are ads for pans. They will follow you everywhere. They will never stop.

Very sweet when properly ripe. Some are just sweet, with not much else going for them; the better kinds are very rich, with elements of jam, honey, and red wine. They pair well with savoury things - salads, cheeses, charcuterie, and so on, and can be used in cakes and puddings.

My lodger was shocked on walking into the kitchen and finding me listening to Manchester rapper #Aitch I explained that I’m quite a fan, despite being 100. I love the fact that he refers to roads around here as if they’re riddled with gangsters. I’m now listening to Salif Keita, who I once met.

Yes - normally - and delicious. This one, being my first on a youngish tree in northern England, was slightly tangy but most pleasing.
