A strike isn’t what teachers want.
It’s what happens when every other option has been ignored.

From 2022 to today, the message is the same: Invest in public education. Invest in kids.

Because we’ve learned nothing in this province!

Elections Alberta has approved a citizen-initiated petition application to gather signatures in support of the proposal to end public funding to independent/private schools.

Calgary teacher Alicia Taylor says she brought it forward because it could help improve funding for public schools. #AbEd

If high school chemistry teacher Alicia Taylor gets her wish, Albertans will vote in a referendum on whether to end public funding for independent schools.

My 16-year-old daughter (off from school because of the teachers' strike) helped me make this video and negotiated the new Taylor Swift LP as compensation for her content creation skills. Which are superb, as you can see! #yyccc

Today, teachers in Edmonton (and across Alberta) rallied for public education.

Tomorrow, we go on strike. The UCP said they have no idea what teachers want. If that's still true, I'd recommend that they read our initial proposal (again).

A picture taken 2025/Oct/05 of the rally at the Alberta legislature in support of public education. It's estimated that tens of thousands came together in support of lower class sizes, necessary classroom supports, reasonable teacher workloads, and fair compensation. A picture of the sign I made (and wore) for the rally on 2025/Oct/05 at the Alberta legislature. It reads "Treat subs like we're essential"

My colleagues and I are worried about the future of public education in Alberta. This year my smallest class is 36 students and, for the first time in 20 yrs of teaching, I have a class of more than 40. The speed limit around the school is 30. The class size limit should be 30 as well. #ableg #abed

so no private entity, as has been been promised by DS for months.

This is insane. public money shouldn't be building infrastructure for oil and gas companies. They're rich enough (and smart enough) to do their own investing in worthwhile projects.

Danielzebub Smith will spend taxpayer dollars to advertise against teachers & pay for childcare while they're on strike

But she refuses to actually listen to teachers & help fix the problems in our public schools
With the UCP it's always about the ideology
It's never about helping Albertans

Juan was observing the situation at the ICE detention facility alongside other elected officials. He was in a designated protesting area & was standing peacefully when video shows

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has STILL not issued a public apology for completely fabricating a story about a young child attending a concert.

Smith claimed his parents were recovering from addiction without any basis at all & refuses to apologize.

This is a MUST listen!

The mother who was falsely represented by the Premier of Alberta for clicks spoke out this morning.

Danielle Smith fabricated a story about a family who has simply chosen a sober lifestyle.

This family deserves an apology.

Danielle Smith's 4-year contract for Bruce (Spanky) McAllister to belittle Albertans is $737,000 in salary and $88,000 in pension benefits, for a total of $825,000 paid to do what he did at public forums.
It's a disgrace.
