We are adjourned. Bill 2 passed.

Not a single UCP MLA voted against dear leader's wishes, even in her absence. Every single one of them stood (many times) in order to strip teachers like me (about 51 000 Albertans) of our rights as workers.

Shame.

Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

And then there were... 14.

Recall petitions have been approved against Glenn Van Dijken, Jackie Lovely, Nathan Neudorf, Jason Stephan and Searle Turton.

That's 14 of the 47 UCP MLAs now facing potential recall.

Any mention of privatization should always be accompanied by this warning, like the warnings on a pack of cigarettes.

Privatization is HARMFUL and results in more deaths.

From the DM’s…

The UCP Caucus was apparently up late last night in a blind panic over recall. They’re allegedly desperate to find any reason that they can sell to their base to justify shutting down the existing recall efforts.

It's important for stories like this to point out that the usual justifications for privatizing healthcare are nonsense, but the stated justifications were never the actual justifications, they were just the cover. The real justification is "rich people deserve to live more than poor people."

I spoke with Canada’s Premiers today about how Budget 2025 will enable us to build big — more homes, new infrastructure, major nation-building projects.

Working together, we’ll get big things built faster and create more opportunities for our workers and businesses.

I don't like the budget (I feel it's largely a #BigOil wish list) and I don't want an election (I feel there's literally NOBODY to vote for).

I am a Canadian citizen and lifelong voter. I feel disenfranchised. I feel like my political system is utterly failing me.

Smith has ignored some past resolutions (e.g., banning union donations, designating CO2 a pollutant, banning trans women in prisons).

This shows she can say no, but her record is to follow the base, even if she was initially reluctant.
