This is why we can't allow Smith to destroy Alberta's healthcare

CNN: “An older couple making $85K/year will see their yearly insurance premiums jump from $7K to $25,000 — 30% of their income.” 😳#TrumpShutdown #TrumpHealthCareTax

This is what Dems are drawing attention to and want fixed. Now, not later.

Idiots like Yager is think it's okay for private industry to take all the profit & leave Albertans paying for all the damages

But when it comes to funding education & healthcare the UCP will talk about the deficit as though regular Albertans caused the shortfall not giveaways to donors

What's a citizen-initiated petition? If Taylor (and friends) can gather the signatures of roughly 177,000 Alberta voters in a 120-day period, and Elections AB verifies them, a govt committee must then prepare a report on the proposal or send it back to Exns AB for a referendum vote. #AbEd

I need to sign this. Albertans, you should too. Let’s get rid of private schools They are not required and never were.

Love it
I can't wait to sign

But what I love the most is that regular Albertans are using Smith's pro-separatist legislation against her

Elections Alberta has approved a citizen-initiated petition application to gather signatures in support of the proposal to end public funding to independent/private schools.

Calgary teacher Alicia Taylor says she brought it forward because it could help improve funding for public schools. #AbEd

When I was a kid in the sixties we didn't have OCD, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia or any learning disability
What we had were a lot of children growing up to be illiterate adults
This will happen again
With 40 kids in a class how can teachers even identify the kids who have problems
I support teachers

Alberta has lithium deposits, which can be used by the renewable industry
It can be mined through our existing oil infrastructure
And we do NOTHING with it because of Smith's small-minded idealism
Alberta is missing out on jobs

For the first time on record, renewable energy generated more electricity for the planet than coal, a new report says. n.pr/47hcegr

I agree, but sadly, there are those in Alberta who need the black and white solution of feds are bad so anyone who fights the feds are good

Until we make these people understand that fighting for Albertans is not the same as fighting for corporate interests we will remain in the mess

The mystery of medical diagnosis!
Anyone: Why are there suddenly so many AHDH diagnoses?
Dr. Jen: Same reason there are suddenly more stars after we built telescopes.

I was born in the 60s and, although eventually diagnosed, my dyslexia & dysgraphia earned me the R word by every adult in my life. My exceptional math ability was considered savant. We didn’t have support for students like me. We can’t go back there! I support Alberta teachers!!!

That is, of course, unless you're talking about private schools...

Then it becomes one of the most important things that the Alberta Government recommends parents pay attention to while choosing a private school.

Demetrios Nicolaides is making the rounds on talk shows and would like you to know that class sizes don't matter that much.

The Alberta government stopped tracking class sizes, and then the province's population growth really took off. @robsonfletcher.com set out to find out how the numbers of teachers compare to that growth, with the limited info available

Class size/composition is a strike issue.

ANALYSIS | Alberta stopped tracking class sizes. Then it changed its funding formula. Now, it's a teachers' strike issue | CBC News
Get a rough idea of how much Alberta’s teaching staff has grown compared to how much student enrolment has grown since the funding formula for school boards was changed.

Prediction: Alberta will shove through back to work legislation shortly after the legislature resumes sitting on October 23.

Second prediction: It will declare that it is invoking S33

Third prediction: the back to work legislation will impose a "settlement".

On the school board trustee front…

Hearing some “elections workers” were at advance polling stations in #yyc telling people that candidates had dropped out so there would be no trustee ballots.

When those candidates had not dropped out.

I was told by a lady working in a clothing store that Smith is the best because she stands up to Ottawa
I was flabbergasted at the stupidity
But I guess Smith knows just how stupid her base is

I just want Albertans who still support this UCP government to give me a real reason.

The UCP have made everything worse. Skyrocketing utilities & insurance rates. Healthcare on the verge of collapse. Teachers on strike over working conditions.

They’ve made an awful mess.
