Turns out that when Americans said "If it weren't for us you'd be speaking German now..." their objection was to learning a second language, not fascism.

So depressing.
This levy would have had a massive impact on reducing those TWO HUNDRED MILLION single use cups that Ireland uses every year.
A simple and effective win.

I’ll be honest, I find this utterly disheartening.

I had a good day today. Spoke at length about craft cider at Blas na hEireann in Dingle, won a bronze for our apple crisps in the snack category, and then a bronze (up against major competitors) in the spirits category, for The 80 apple brandy with The Tipperary Distillery.

You know what I miss? Websites. Easy to navigate, with all the info in one place. They're vanishing, being replaced by Instagram (pretty pics that tell you NOTHING), Tik-Tok, FB, etc. Times are stressful, just give me your hours, rates, product info, product, etc. please don't drain my brain more.

Then there was Michael Moynihan on the Event Centre ( Cork Joke)

Richard Horgan on Trumpian chaos.

An excellent article on the injustice of inherited wealth.

And so much more.

This is not a paid ad, it’s just an acknowledgement of excellent value in a world where it is getting harder to find.

Thursday was just another example of what great value a real newspaper is.

I bought the @irishexaminer.bsky.social as always.

There was all the usual news about imploding presidential candidates and orange muppets, but so much more.

Bernard O’Shea writing about Açai, was just GOLD😂😊!
