these reporters and their sources insist on assuming - contrary to all evidence - 30 years into digital domination - that governments or regulations or police or commissioners or someone of the current patriarchal order can and will stop people using the internet for abuses as old as patriarchy.

imagine if all 17,000 NSW Police officers stopped causing trauma and poverty through criminalisation and incarceration and instead treated everyone equally leniently as Mal Lanyon “learning from his mistakes”.

They are not redeemable, they are not your friends, and if you would call the American police for any reason other than, "I literally have to because of a car accident or because there is a dead body here and I don't want to get in trouble," then we cannot be friends. That includes wellness checks.

Ive sat in on DV response training courses 4 cops & they spent the whole time shooting spitballs at the ceiling, making jokes about abusing their own spouses, arguing w the presenter in a "less a question more a comment" way, & the women bragging they were even harder on hysterical victims than men
