He's "sparking debate" much in the same way you corporate stooges are performing "journalism."

Very "Friday afternoon" move.

Just once I'd love to vote for this "radical socialist" the GOP are shitting their pants over.

I enjoyed the fed up dad but other than that it has that terrible "are we allowed to do this" mugging that defeats any actual structure or nuance at every point. Yes, you made a gory Power Rangers movie. Japan's been doing that for years without the preciousness.

I've should listen to more jazz. I've come to realize it's how you got your rocks off before you could go fucking around with tape loops.

I'm hoping Deathstalker might be fun but hearing the phrase "not as brilliant as Psycho Goreman" is not exactly enticing. I am admittedly aware Kostanski has not yet made a feature I'd consider successful, but I think he maybe could, with a writer helping him.

Stephen Kostanski's DEATHSTALKER may not be as brilliant as PSYCHO GOREMAN, but it's a good-natured sword and sorcery throwback with a silly sense of humor, and an imagination that's only limited by its budget - and even then, it's not that limited.

My review is at TheWrap!
‘Deathstalker’ Review: Cheesy B-Movie Reboot Has More Imagination Than Most Blockbusters
The forgotten sword and sorcery franchise Deathstalker returns with a wild, cheesy, low-budget epic with memorable monsters and mayhem

Haha, yeah, the Democrats would improve things. Sure thing, buddy.

Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

Economically speaking the Microsoft 365 software suite is worth a lot more than a banana. But realistically, bananas have an actual use.

It's funny that the US has landed a cushy gig where its primary economic activity is making dogshit software and leasing it everywhere. Ungodly sums of money change hands for crap that everyone hates. And yet we're going to tank it all arguing with nations that produce "food."
jackeason.bsky.social
The US will lose this battle, right? We're a nation of little consumption piggies conditioned to believe spending money equates to liberty and consumerism is self expression. China, is not that. And also they actually make stuff.

Breaking news: President Trump threatened new tariffs on China and warned that he may cancel a meeting later this month with Chinese leader Xi Jinping after Beijing escalated trade tensions with new restrictions on rare earth minerals.

This sounds terrible but 12-point TNR is undeniably the font of serious communication so he was onto something there.

I don't believe it's necessary to cut off family for having shitty political beliefs and doing so often just makes everyone feel worse (though sometimes not!) but anyone who's willing to join the Gestapo for lucre is persona non grata. They are beneath acknowledgement.

Grabbed coffee this morning and was wondering why traffic seemed so aggressive. Found a small group of anti-ICE protesters at the corner holding signs and every car going through the junction was leaning on the horn in approval. Remember, if you have family or friends working for ICE, no you don't.

Just ran myself a very amusing, thematically resonant double-bill of Brian Yuzna's Society followed by The Onion's Bad Pedophile.

Pretty sure you need specialized equipment to make a proper baguette. Meanwhile every store in the US sells baguettes and they all suck so bad. Luckily I have a boulangerie near enough to me but it could be closer. If it was I'd eat one a day.

a big thing i learned about myself during covid is that i just want to buy a goddamned baguette from the store or the bakery, i literally never want to make the damned thing myself

How did I never make the connection over all these years that Billy Warlock is Dick Warlock's son? I probably should've been tipped off by his debut being in Halloween II. Can't be too many Warlocks out there.

Quietus are the best. They're how I originally discovered Richard Dawson when Peasant won their album of the year.

Only now noticing they want a "Start Rating." I give the food five starts because the cats eat it and leave me alone.

Um, I didn't buy it for myself?
Screen grab from email asking "what I thought" of a recent bag of cat food I purchased.
