As expected, Georgia’s prosecutor ditched election interference case against Trump saying “it’s not illegal to question election results.”
Never mind we all heard Trump *on tape* telling GA officials to “find 11,780 votes” to overturn Georgia results.
Crime pays, again.

Georgia Judge Drops Election-Interference Case Against Trump
A prosecutor requested the move, saying he didn’t find enough evidence to support the wide-ranging racketeering charges.

This, a million times over. Please tell people when you like their work. Creatives can go a very long time without any outside input at all, positive or otherwise, so a gesture of appreciation often makes all the difference in the world.
Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

HAMNET is an emotional uppercut, but its sincerity is undercut by the many contrived biopic/prequel set-ups, in which a lot of the scenes and dialogue flagrantly foreshadow HAMLET. It's basically SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE if SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE took itself entirely seriously.

And yet, it mostly works.

"The White House isn't sure whether Trump actually had a phone call or just imagined it" is where we are on the dementia scale now.
An amazing new Trump controversy, Part II of II:

- Saturday afternoon: Trump says he spoke to Bolsonaro the night before and planned to see him “in the very near future”

- Monday afternoon: The Trump White House isn’t sure whether Trump actually had the conversation he referenced two days earlier
White House hedges on Trump’s curious claim about his call with Brazil’s Bolsonaro White House hedges on Trump’s curious claim about his call with Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro
Did the Republican president talk to Bolsonaro as the Brazilian plotted to escape? Trump said yes, but the White House isn’t so sure.

LucasFilm: Muppet Star Wars

Marvel: Squirrel Girl

Warner Bros: Batgirl (just finish it)

Paramount: Star Trek Lower Decks - The Movie

Universal - Key and Peele Meet the Universal Monsters

Blumhouse: Twelve Days of Purge-mas

Lionsgate: A Very Step Up Wedding

Pixar: The Queerest. Movie. EVER.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

See also: If a person is lucky enough that the Very Bad Thing doesn’t seriously hurt them or kill anyone they happen to know personally, they conclude it wasn’t even bad.
The paradox of prevention: if you successfully prevent the Very Bad Thing from happening, a whole lot of people conclude there was no Very Bad Thing and therefore no reason to continue working to prevent it.

Not a joke: Trump just greenlit RUSH HOUR 4. It will be directed by Brett Ratner, a pig of a human being who has been accused of sexual assault by six women. He also harassed Elliot Page and outed him. Disgusting and depressing on so many levels I don't know where to start.

remember when they called John Wick "Baba Yaga" because they thought it meant "real cool killer who's maybe a ghost" and then they found out it was a witch who lives in a hut that's held up by chicken legs and then they didn't call him that anymore

I love the stage musical, but this gets to the meat of why For Good didn't quite work. The film is so concerned with redeeming Glinda that it forgives her for being a collaborator.
Now that folks have had the weekend to see WICKED: FOR GOOD, I'm over at @thewrap.com going long about how the ending doesn't just fail to meet to moment, it fails to live up to what Jon M. Chu and co. set up in Part 1.

"The girl in the bubble," indeed.

My review of WICKED: FOR GOOD was limited by its publication date, so I couldn’t go into detail about all the reasons the ending stinks.

Fortunately, Amelia Emberwing articulates it better than I could.

People are dunking on this, but the thing about X is that the MPA never trademarked it, which is why it instantly got co-opted by porn and became unusable for mainstream releases. There is nothing stopping Brady Corbet from slapping a giant X rating on his next film, and I truly hope he does.
Brady Corbet’s next film will be X-rated, shot entirely on 70mm, and span three centuries.
