If you don’t think “serial sex pest who cost the state 60 million in sexual harassment lawsuits and then lost a primary and still went on to deliver one of the most bigoted campaigns since George Wallace as an independent” qualifies as “villain”, then you don’t have a working definition of the word.
Thread: Look I know it's easier cognitively to just have good guys and villains, but a lot of you folks are just not dealing in facts. Andrew Cuomo was a centrist, sure, and he fought a lot with Democrats. But he also pushed some of the most progressive state policies of his era. A partial list. 1/
The Democrats have to come to grips with the fact that the electorate is coming to the realization, albeit late, that this was never a Red vs. Blue country but a Have vs. Have Not's.

It's a class war. The old culture war talking points that so many in that old guard cling to is worthless.
I would argue that the word "Democrat" is no longer applicable to the vast majority of those under 50 (or under 40) without an attached qualifier.

Democrat = Schumer, Jefferies, Pelosi, etc. (Weak old guard)
Democratic Socialist = Mamdani, AOC, etc. (Tough cool kids)
Because MLS imposes zero consequences for it.

I think fundamentally the problem with post liberal thinkers is that they seem to assume that vanquishing liberalism results in their enemies being converted or defeated and not becoming radicalized into enemies who no longer extend the mercies they once did.

Imagine being 17, your little brother by your side, begging to speak to your dad as he’s dragged away. You may never see him again. And this is every day. Soul shattering, nightmarish stuff, never to be forgiven.
A Naperville man was hauled away by federal immigration agents Thursday morning as his two sons watched, the older boy begging them not to hurt his father and tearfully asking for a chance to speak to him before they left.

See the issue is that Trump ran on releasing on the Epstein files, and Bondi said she had them sitting on her desk ready to go, and then Elon Musk tweeted that Trump was in them and they were suddenly deemed a hoax and Ghislaine was moved to a spa prison, so you can understand the fresh intrigue
Mike Johnson: "Suddenly now, they've somehow convinced themselves that the Epstein files will be damaging to President Trump and Republicans in some way that they've imagined, and so they feign outrage."
I mean... This is *IT.*
It's not complicated.
Donald Trump won’t release the Epstein files because he raped children.

Full stop.

when i say that i yelped in shock at this kid’s sign
This guy (thankfully) isn't a Democrat in any traditional sense of the word as applied to party affiliation. Establishment Dems fear him as much as MAGA.

This guy is a whole new ballgame. Technically, if we have to label it, a "Democratic Socialist."

He's going to be called "Mr. Mayor" very soon!

Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.
I'll answer.
He'll do whatever is cheapest!
Sorry. Last thing. I think you'll also find that most head coaches in the league are united in their desire for a deeper talent pool when it comes to filling those 30 slots.

So, while MLS allows for fluidity, as you rightly pointed out, I'm looking more at the *quality* of those call ups.
If only viewed through the lens of interleague play, MLS team vs. MLS team, those limitations aren't so glaring. It's only when MLS teams travel outside the comforts of its 30 team cocoon do fans often get a rude lesson on just how far this league still needs to go in terms of spending.

2/END
I've been following this league since '96. I know of what I speak. Modifications and adjustments to arcane roster limitations can't hide the fact that, from an intra-league perspective, MLS is woefully behind the times; even when viewed within CONCACAF.
