If SANDAG had any foresight, they’d buy (part of) the Costa verde mall site asap. It’s their only way to build the UTC Coaster/Purple line station cut and cover instead of SEM tunneling. Cut and cover (probably) saves hundreds of millions, is faster, and ultimately leads to better station designs.

The water year ended Tuesday (Sept. 30). San Diego finished with 5.07 inches of rain, just more than half the normal annual total (9.79). It's the 16th driest year in city history (since 1850) & the driest since 2017-18, when 3.34 inches fell. Last year, the city got 12.43. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Due to its inability to build housing, California is on track to lose at least 3 congressional at a time where control of congress rests on a knife's edge.

That can at least be partially averted if Governor Newsom signs SB79 into law. Call him and urged him to sign it.

Heard from a friend at Disney+ that there are multiple levels of freakout internally, both from internal dissatisfaction, concerns about subscription cancelations, and of course the big one: concern about a boycott spilling over into parks and cruises.
