I do not understand why television stations are not showing live coverage of how there is literally nothing happening in Portland and Chicago. I mean, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, and Tom Brokaw would each be sitting on a set in those cities telling everyone the white house is lying.
There are many reasons why I miss the Bandai-era of #PowerRangers toys, but the top reason is easily the familiarity, which meant predictability.

With Playmates (and to a lesser extent, Hasbro before them), it's hard to believe my own eyes when what I'm seeing defies the established playbook/logic.

You can't expect a company that doesn't understand the brand itself to understand something as "niche" as *the original Megazord on which the franchise is built*.
Been there. Chickened out.

This whole section really.
"As the franchise looks toward its 31st year"

So, they're looking... backwards?

🤦🏼‍♂️
“A tad overboard”?

Hellllll no. 😁
A month later, and nothing. ☹️

Focus seems to be on the Memorial Edition changers, which they are really cranking through lately.
We’re overdue for the next SHODO Super Sentai team announcement, no?
Lots of good bits in this one, esp. re: the realities behind any action figure line.

Those who would benefit from hearing these things likely won't (or won't let themselves) listen.

Extra poignant as I recently lost a collector friend who *got* it, and I will miss discussing this stuff with him. 🫤

Update: As of last night @liladam87.bsky.social was taken off life support.

Because he was such a giving and kind person in life, his generosity carries on. He was an organ donor and his organs will go to those that need it.

RIP my friend. #ILovePowerRangers
Hey everyone. I heard from a mutual friend of
@liladam87.bsky.social a few hours ago.

Technically he’s on life support, but brain dead. There is talk of pulling him off. He suffered a stroke while on vacation in Las Vegas. He fell and hit his head which lead to bleeding on the brain. (1/2)
Yeah, the precision of SMP came a loooong way between the releases for Zyu and Dai.

They don’t even feel like they are from the same line.

There's no shame in being wrong about something.

There is shame in choosing to be wrong.
Hasbro's standard six-inch figures are now priced at $27.99.

It's definitely becoming easier and easier to leave the #LightningCollection in the rear view mirror...

Toy collecting tip: if ever you find yourself looking at a new toy and wondering “who wants this?” or “who are they even making this for?”, the answer is fairly uniformly “someone else”
For instance, your last post with the Star Wars figures. A visually impaired person would not understand what is ridiculous if they cannot perceive the image.

I'm not a SW guy, so I'm not gonna wade too far in here, but an alt text including "Stormtrooper dressed as a reindeer" could be helpful.
[30 minutes later]

*breathe*

You hit a nerve.

To be clear - while some people choose to write lengthy, flowery alternative text, that is not always necessary. Adequately describing the image for those who can not perceive it is sufficient.
“More work”

What a wonderfully privileged take!

If taking the time to describe your image - or relying on external AI to do so - is too much work, maybe your images aren’t worth posting in the first place?

Because fuck the visually impaired, amirite?
You gotta open his mouth slightly to demonstrate he’s happy that he is finally assembled.
