What horrifies me about this is that it is highly unlikely intelligence services etc didn’t know about Epstein’s activities long before this which means that child abuse is just something to turn a blind eye to (see also Cyril Smith, Al Fayed etc etc)

I like Swalwell, but this strikes me as naive at best. House Republicans have remained in lock step protecting Trump for nine years and I don't see any reason for that to change. They all know what's in the Epstein files, yet they continue to protect a child rapist.

I went out to dinner last night in Portland and the streets were busy and alive with people enjoying a fall evening. No sirens. No fires or smoke. No one boarding up windows. The fear mongering is just that. It has no relationship to reality.
