Celebrating an unworthy recipient NOT receiving the Nobel Peace Prize by sharing a photo of an unworthy recipient RECEIVING the Nobel Peace Prize is not the own you think it is. Please stop.

I needed to take 3 trips to city hall this year in order to vote - I was not on the voters list despite living in the same house for 18 years. The average person would not take these extra steps. Voter turnout is partially a function of electoral management. Let us assess our processes, St John's.

To be crystal clear: it's not about what the scientists "told CBC News", not just informed opinion. The science itself is very clear. You can question perhaps the degree of NL contribution to climate change, but it's fact that the oil from here is a contributor. Full stop. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The 2025 provincial election is happening in the direct aftermath of one of the worst climate-related disasters in Newfoundland and Labrador’s recent history.

There's a reason they hid their platforms until the last possible minute.

Empty promises with no four year costing.

You deserve a better deal.

Please everyone buy my latest book which is all about this problem and how we can fix it. It has, of course, been ignored by the mainstream press.

According to the flotilla tracker & Al Jazeera, the Conscience (along with other flotilla ships) has been intercepted.

Time to get on the phones and call our MPs to demand Canada ensure the safe return of the Canadians on board including NL activists Devoney Ellis, Nikita Stapleton, & Sadie Mees.

There are few things that make me imagine doing violence to strangers like seeing something like this.

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

Does anyone actually expect anything radical in the platforms of
the two establishment parties? They may include a few coppers for us commoners struggling to make ends meet but rest assured they will not abandon the donor class they have served faithfully for so long. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Both the Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives have yet to release a costed platform, despite some voters casting ballots Tuesday.

Reading Friday’s Telegram (October 3rd) story on the NLNDP in this election saying that they didn’t yet have 40 candidates but hoped to do so by the Sep 23rd nomination deadline. The article is thin gruel to begin with but being 10 days out of date in a 30 day election period is unacceptable.

My latest -- Russia is being accused of backing Serbian nationals for spreading hatred in Germany and French. And some Canadians are thinking aloud that the same could be happening here. But do Canadian racists need Russia's support? I argue that they do not.
Is Canadian hatred actually Russia's fault?
No, of course not, but please still read on.

Just a reminder that only 14 of the 94 Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action have been implemented in Canada. The history of settler colonialism in Canada is uninterrupted, violent, ongoing.

“Countries with the lowest rates of homelessness have made big investments in social and public housing. Yet in [NL] and Canada, housing has become an industry—part of landlords’ investment portfolios—which has turned a basic human need into a commodity whose value is determined by the market.”

Lowering costs.
Fixing healthcare.
No new taxes.
No service cuts.

All with 4 balanced budgets.

That’s the NDP plan.

Hey @mark-carney.bsky.social, you know what would be a great national-building project? POSTAL BANKING in all the small rural communities across this nation your corporate banking buddies have abandoned.

The voices of young people are clear: Youth unemployment isn’t just a statistic, it’s a crisis shaping their lives & futures.

A Youth Climate Corps could put thousands to work while supporting climate & community.

The Canadian military loses $34 billion a year.

Canadian Health Care loses $372 billion a year.

Imagine if Carneys liberals talked about services like it does the Post Office.
