I have real worries about that kind of segmentation because it can be really hard to prove a negative. how do you track what voices you’re NOT hearing? any amount of slicing and dicing platforms by interest or affinity or group feels like losing what was good about when Twitter was good

Fun fact: last week I got my royalty statement. It was for the last 6 months, and it was for my two books that have been banned.

Just so you know how rich we get off banned books, that check was a whopping $51.

My mom used to bake a lot of turkey because the Thanksgiving leftovers situation was the point. We'd eat it but then there would be sandwiches and soup and freezermeals.

Turns out, making a dish more than once a year means you are best at it, too.

You don't become an artist who's any good if you don't love the work itself. Even the parts that are a struggle.

What we don't love is the marketing, promo, admin, etc. When you start, you don't think you're signing up to be a wildly underpaid arts admin, but 80% of professional art time is this.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.
