They have GONE. TOO. FAR. They’ve attacked peaceful protestors, put the military in our streets, defunded scientists, threatened our schools, defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people, attacked civil rights, and slashed services. #nokings #nokingsseattle #seattle #nokingsinamerica

Trump thinks he can rule us like a king on behalf of his billionaire backers. But Americans have a strong track record of sending kings who mess with everyday working people packing.

#NOKINGS October 18th. Seattle Center. Join us: actionnetwork.org/events/2025-...

Trump is a wanna be king. He wants to be a dictator. It takes people power to enable people power, but it also takes a little bit more.

We are expecting for No Kings Seattle Oct. 18 to be the largest protest in Seattle history. 🧵

ICE is all over the city and burbs today, including Waukegan. Multiple reports on social media from people who have found empty work vans and are trying to locate family of their owners. This is a near daily occurrence now.

It does feel a little bit like a glass cliff situation for Weiss.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person though.

Isn't the average age of CBS News viewers 75? No one can "maintain" that because it isn't as if people are aging into watching CBS News, but they do age out of it.

The argument for Weiss & Ellison: they have created audiences.

Argument against: not mass market audiences.

Over the past months, Trump has escalated efforts to consolidate power, punish political enemies, and weaponize the machinery of government. Only the people, in numbers, can stop him. 🧵

Hosting an event this big is huge. We have over a 100 volunteers working now to organize an impactful and safe action. We are pitching in what we can, printing flyers at home, borrowing tents, sandwich boards, and walkie talkies. Please help make it happen by donating to the No Kings Seattle.🧵

You told us at the last event you wanted more bathrooms, better sound and to see the speakers. We have more safety volunteers. This is what it takes to deliver that experience in an event this size. We've been working around the clock. I'm proud of our team but we could use your support.🧵

I did a volunteer on-boarding yesterday. Solid third was women >70.

Men of all ages are underrepresented. And they are probably there with a female partner and often *because* their female partner has roped them in.

It is a fruit—it is an aggregate accessory fruit, each of the seeds is a fruit. It is not a berry, which is a fleshy fruit surrounding a pit (seed). Raspberries and blackberries aren'tberries either but pumpkins are.

Yup, vegetable is a culinary category. Fruit is both a culinary and botanical category and it doesn't have the same rules in each.

Don't forget the critical erosion of the rule of law, a cornerstone of a functional market economy, and absolute chaos the tariff policies that makes any one who produces, moves, or sells a physical product in the US's life a waking nightmare.

We had a *tiny* bit of a labor shortage coming out of COVID. Workers got a teeny bit of leverage and execs didn't like that, so we got Trump 2.0.

Trump is creating catastrophic, economy-shifting labor shortages coupled with skyrocketing health care costs and stagflation.

Perfect. No notes.

i would not be surprised if business types, particular family business tyrants, are starting to sweat things as their cravings for ~labor discipline ~ have given way to fears of labor shortage

Yeah... a theology degree from Bob Jones is not exactly something I would trust to be a deep and serious examination of the different understandings of the divine.
