Breaking News: Late last night Conde Nast illegally fired 4 union organizers who asked company execs to explain the downsizing of Teen Vogue and continued layoffs. We’ve filed a grievance.

Oh wow! Thanks! I hate it!
I find using it on my laptop with adblock slightly more tolerable. In the app you're exposed to the fact that somehow 20+ people you are connected with like every single sponsored post by CapitalOne? You do better on there the more you comment, but lately I can't stomach it.
I can absolutely tell that the algorithm has started deprioritizing political content and tbh basically anything that is not considered "uplifting" by its AI this year. Also I genuinely hate using it even if it does help spread my work. You can't escape empty hustle and achievement content. 2/2
I have only been successful on there while being political about child care policy due to the inroads I've made networking in person. Because I have a name recognition, I have people willing to share my work and perspectives. 1/2

The U.S. right is using low birth rates to foment a panic about impending population decline. If they can convince reasonable people that this is a real problem that must be addressed, it opens the doors to policies that restrict women's rights.

This is the cover they've long wanted.
Some on the far right want to repeal the 19th amendment. Many more share a coercive, patriarchal view of women.

I wrote about this and how the far right sees subjugating women as key to building the sort of electorate they need to win. @liberalcurrents.com

Women Should Make Babies, Not Vote: Why Some on the Far Right Want to Repeal the 19th Amendment
The far right takes losses at the ballot box as evidence that women do not deserve their rights.

Pronatalism is not about raising birth rates. It's about redistributing (reclaiming) power.
The emphasis on family policy is very evident in Heritage’s policy work.

One draft paper we obtained proposed a “Manhattan Project” for more babies.

A subsequent draft floats giving straight married couples an extra “half vote” in federal elections for each of their children.

we got sentiment analysis on replies to hide gallows humor, but like the 10th biggest account on here is liberal kidnap/deportation fanfiction presented as facts & at this point in the “generative AI being presented as real by billionaire owned media” cycle, that bluesky is cool with that is fucked.
AltNPS's post is full of the same lurid details and breathless dramatization as their previous attempt at ICE raid erotica from a few weeks ago.

Things that AltNPS could not possibly have witnessed, and which aren't reported anywhere else.
Block these accounts.
This one is personal to me.

AltNPS posted, so far only on Facebook, an extended piece of manipulative fanfiction about the recent abduction of a woman at a Chicago daycare center by ICE agents.

The video, which you've likely already seen, is horrific.

The video now rapidly circulating (which also does not have a date or time marked) does not blur this poor woman's face. Here's one that does:

This is a NAEYC accredited program. NAEYC's silence is shameful.
This is the teacher federal agents grabbed yesterday at Rayito De Sol daycare in front of children. Attorneys for Diana Santillana have filed a petition in federal court to have her freed from ICE custody.

“If they’re taking one of us, they’re taking all of us,” she adds. “The problem with this country is we don’t care for each other. We need to care for each other. You need to stand with us until this stops. This abuse needs to stop.”

Maria Guzman, daughter of immigrants and mother of two kids at the daycare, speaks now.

“I have taken them to a daycare where they are immersed in their culture and taken care of people who are like aunts and grandmothers. … For this to be our reality is insane, it is a nightmare.”

She says parents organized presser, rally, and arranged legal rep for the woman taken.

“Diana is a part of us, and we will not stay silent.”

“We demand schools be treated as safe spaces… Federal agents need to be held accountable for entering this establishment illegally.”

Parent from Rayito del Sol goes to speak before dozens of parents and kids from the school join her on stage.

“She was stolen on her way to care for our children,” says Tara, daughter of an immigrant, mom of kid at the daycare and an attorney who was helping Ms. Diana.

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning.

This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.
I try to be pretty selective, but frankly forgot I subscribed to this one. Ugh.
I trusted this one because it seemed to have just gone through the effort of blocking people who posted those shitty AI Elon as Melania pics, but I guess that's what I get for hoping someone did something helpful without making it their own petty thing!
was just wondering where a mutual was on here, tracked them down, they got added to the "elonia" blocklist i was subscribed to???????? so i've had them blocked for like 10 months??? guess I need to go back to blocking manually.
