From what I found online, this was a VERY popular Burlesque act from Spain. Act was run by one man (can't find his name). Other actors/clowns/dancers were hired throughout Europe.(stick around for the end):

I vaguely remember watching this show as a very young'n. My Dad and I *adored* Jimmy's show (and Rowlf). Thank you, Ken, for the clip I haven't yet seen.

Viewing the clips so many decades later makes me yearn for production numbers with 12 excellent dancers...
