Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...
Second "No Kings Day" protests likely the largest single-day political demonstration since 1970, with 4.2-7.6 million participants
Here are the initial results from our crowdsourced crowd-counting estimates

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important
I lived in the Philippines for a few years as a kid, starting a year after Marcos was deposed. There were multiple military coups where we evacuated (we lived in a neighborhood right next to two separate military camps), and I remember seeing streets that were empty… except for tanks.
My 84yo mom was radicalized by Charlottesville. Later, she wanted to get on a bus and go across three states to protest children in cages. So in ♥️♥️ with folks of their generation who stand up for what’s right.

Across all the major outlets — NYT, WSJ, WaPo, LAT, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, NBC, CNBC, NPR, Bloomberg — the only outlet without a No Kings story on its home page is CBS News.

For every other outlet, it's near the top. Even Fox News is running with "Nationwide unrest looms as thousands mobilize"

I always wondered about this guy
I not only remember the numbers, but also the tones - my friend’s home number sounded like a few bars from phantom of the opera and was such fun to punch in
