We are not sane is the simple yet horrifying answer. Hope all survive the ride 🙃

If one was, say, a woman in her early(ish) forties and clueless about makeup, where might one start? Is there a catch-up class for introverted nerds who hid inside books throughout their teenage years?

Delighted to see this.
Love the cover of the latest @bansheepress.bsky.social issue, their 20th! A fantastic achievement🥂

Wanderers by @kerriandrewsuk.bsky.social is an uplifting account of women through history for whom walking was important: defying gendered conventions, walking mountains alone, often writing as they went.

Inspiring, courageous, & passionate #NatureWriting!

In my case at least it was validating to see someone else feeling the same things, tho expressed with far greater erudition (and pleasing sarcasm). Sometimes outrage is the only moral response. I think this is one of those times.

I appreciated the sardonic outrage very much. Grim news, but the withering prose somehow helped.

Today's #IrishBookWeek prompt is: Share an Irish Language book📚☘️

Cheating slightly going with the Eoinín series by Muireann Ní Chíobháin & Róisín Hahessy, *adorable* board books with the most delightful illustrations

Feeling quite pleased that I managed a mere 33%, including two books signed by the lovely Michael Rosen mostly unfazed by the ludicrous spelling I chose for my son’s name. Festival win!

Obviously #BookSky likely to have *opinions*

Placing bets now for how large a percentage of my appearance fee gets dropped at the festival bookshop tomorrow. There’s a dedicated children’s bookshop, too. Not ruling out 100% tbh

Life goals

I’ve been known to take my son on a massive bike ride *and* give him a big blast round the playpark on the same day but… nope, doesn’t make an iota of difference. ‘I’m not tired!’ He mewls while bouncing off the bed at 9.30. *I’m tired*

Please tell me yours have grown out of it before your 90th….

Coping with the ongoing nightmare that is my son’s behaviour at bedtime by saying softly to myself ‘that’s one more done’ whenever I’ve bribed or caved sufficiently to get him to stop bouncing (literally) round his room. Figure he’ll grow out of it, but will that be before or after I turn 90? 🤔 💀

This would be a wonderful role for the lucky person. It’s a great degree with lovely colleagues and wonderful students and you won’t regret applying.

Urgh. I go for the you don’t bother me I don’t bother you approach. But that does rather depend on them getting down into the floorboards in a timely fashion, and I’m not sure this one hasn’t taken a shine to the high life on my nice soft carpet.

Horrified to learn it’s spider season again already by watching the biggest fecking Beelzebub scoot across my bedroom floor like it owns the bloody place.
