I mean, I'm definitely not a finance guy. No one should consider this any sort of advice (except the "go outside" part.) Who knows what will happen. But I do not trust the zeitgeist on bluesky anymore. People think that things are way worse than they actually are for the vast majority of Americans.

Well this is interesting, re: the Qatar announcement. The story is dated 2022 but says "The Qatar project dates to 2017 when the United States inked a $12 billion deal..."

I don't know whether the deal is a good or bad thing overall, but the fact that it's not new or sudden changes the context.

I've been hearing "russia's economy is on the verge of collapse" every month for 3 years. If *they* are hanging on, despite waging war and incurring international sanctions, we are going to be fine.
