It came on the TV with my almost 12 year old watching. My Dad has dementia, her grandpa. I explained it was absolute rubbish and to ignore it, how else to explain to a child, but she was clearly upset. Its conveys a message not matched to the audience that sees it.

It's incredibly damaging. It's distasteful and does nothing to manage potential stigma around the condition. I support nearly 700 people living with dementia in my role - and I've not heard a good word about it

Not for the first time, I heard from a local dementia organisation today that people with dementia & their family carers described themselves as feeling suicidal having seen the Alzheimer's Society 'with dementia you don't just die once' advert. The organisation knows that, but is still promoting it
