Just a reminder good people. Tomorrow, noon eastern. Be there or be square. Can't wait to talk with Eric and Tim. It's going to be righteous.

I think this is the first true 1987 Topps guy to pass and it's hitting my generation of collectors as hard as I expected.

Mike Greenwell, RIP (1963-2025). Post a favorite card of the two-time all-star, Lee County (FL) commissioner, and career .300 hitter. Trails only Ted Williams in batting average (min. 1000 AB) among hitters who played their entire career with the Red Sox.

Fact Check: FALSE!
But still a great story.
1974 Fleer Laughlin Back of card reads:

Thorpe Homered Into Three States In One Game!

When "the world's greatest athlete," Jim Thorpe, was stripped of his 1912 Olympic medals because of a few pro baseball games at the Carlisle Indian School, manager John McGraw hurried to sign him for the Giants, McGraw knew he'd be a great attraction. It turned out he was a greater attraction than a baseball player, he did have one fantastic day on a spring exhibition tour. In a game in Texas, at the convergence of the Oklahoma and Arkansas borders, Big Jim homered into three states in the one game. His first drive cleared the leftfield fence into Oklahoma, his second the rightfield fence into Arkan-sas, and his third was an inside-the-park round-tripper-in Texas!

Here is how the 426-card T212 Obak set distributes its 271 different subjects across the three years 1909-1911. For example, 32 subjects appeared in all three series while 55 subjects were 1910-only. Longer article coming soon.

100 years ago today, these Hall of Fame greats square off…on the mound! In an 8-inning season finale called for darkness, the aces combine for three scoreless innings. The game also resulted in Cobb’s only career save (retroactively), however sketchy.
