If you are in or near Aberdeen, this is an exhibition featuring ten important Scottish modernist paintings. It draws on research we have funded, & celebrates both the 50th anniversary of the collection as well as the 200th anniversary of @royalscottishacad.bsky.social

Fully agree with comment about reducing screen based homework. It undermines attempts as parent to reduce screen time. Reasons screen time should be minimised in children helpfully articulated in article. Speaking of which I need to regulate my own screentime better!

P.S. What shocked me to the core recently was hearing from a young woman who'd been out with girlfriends to a club. A man walked past her and as he did she felt the spike of a needle go into her upper arm. She quickly became disorientated. Luckily her friends surrounded her like a hive of bees 1/2

Allotments got bit out of hand. However progress today with gooseberry bushes planted and some kindly gifted raspberry canes planted. Onions sets to get planted later this week. As well as some clearing and covering.

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.
