I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.
Ok that's it. Time to pack it in.
been crying at this for the past hour
No beer and no TV make Homer something something
Phoebe Litchfield absolutely killing it in a big semifinal. Great to see #AusvsInd #wcwc
Nice. Follow it up with Colm McGuinness' Come Out Ye Black And Tans

I should’ve learned this by now but DO NOT use FedEx. The diseased monkeys I ordered haven’t arrived and I can’t get a straight answer on what happened to them

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

listening to this podcast reviewing the long walk and trying not to be irritated by their gripe that the ending “wasn’t satisfying” like the ending isn’t supposed to be satisfying wtf are you on

There's a scene early on in THE UNTOUCHABLES where De Niro's Al Capone is holding court at his hotel, joking about all the laws he's breaking as a bunch of fawning smiling reporters take notes.

I keep thinking of that these days.

Notice how Trump is not investigating the 2020 election.

Think about it. He claims that there was a vast conspiracy to steal the election. One would think he would want to investigate that. Unless of course he was lying and knows full well that he lost.
I've seen a few reviews of #TheLongWalk complaining about gruesome violence "as entertainment". All I have to say is if you think the point of the violence in that movie is to be entertaining and not, you know, horrific, then perhaps you shouldn't be reviewing movies for a living

We’re starting to forget, as a society, how to do parables and allegories. Everyone thinks they’re clever for asking “yes but WHY did the wolf want to blow down the little pig’s house?” but you lose the heart of the story if you give the wolf a backstory.
Some reviews of THE LONG WALK missing the point & complaining the world beyond the walk isn't sufficiently fleshed out. What more do they need to know? It's like demanding backstories for Boba Fett etc, endless details that dilute the original mysteries & preempt audiences' imaginations.
Went to see THE LONG WALK, you know, to relax. Which of course did not relax me AT ALL. Though, fun fact, I'd spoilered the ending for myself, but somehow got it wrong so the actual ending took me completely by surprise. Whole thrust of film pretty damn political. Hoffman & Jonsson both great.

one thing thats kinda crazy to get your head around is not that the musk and thiel masters of the universe are ungrateful for the vast public infrastructure, public funding of research, and robust systems of laws and rules that made their wealth possible. it's that theyre too dumb to understand it

Somehow had never watched Haunting of Hill House so am currently 5 eps in and this is incredible stuff, thus far it's hands down the best show I've seen in ages
A show where everyone involved in front and behind the camera is pretty much nailing their task for 10 episodes straight
