Honestly I think the first problem was allowing the bike onto the work floor, that was probably a no-no I would think, though it is made up for by the fact that the dude does the correct thing and just swear and cries about losing the bike instead of doing the wrong thing and trying to save it

It's still an elaborate bubble for chipmakers, but it's a gamble for capital that doesn't scare them as much as touching something that might end up being connected to extortion or narcotics etc

I think the main reason why crypto/the blockchain never took off the way the current AI bubble did because cryptocurrency is inseparable from it's primary utility which is in being the medium of scams, extortion and criminal transactions (like on silk road)

Not for food, but Sandalwood was used by the Hawaiian people and even very briefly became economically important as an export to Asia for the incense trade from China and Japan

Come to think of it, when you're taught about Hawaiian culture as a kid, there's an overemphasis on the canoe crops that was brought either from Asia or traded with from the Americas (the sweet potato), but like there were a lot of plants used for medicine and food that were already in Hawaii

Funny enough the ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi word for both Vaccinium and Fragaria are the same, ʻōhelo or "red" (berry); with the latter being distinguished by its growth habit which is on flat (sand)/lowlands as opposed to Vaccinium which grows at highter elevations in forested mountains

Weird little niche botany evolution question: Why has Vaccinium in Hawaii speciated (into reticulatum, dentatum, calycinum) but not Fragaria chiloensis

They're both very obviously American mainland species that traveled via bird (poop) to Hawaii and were isolated
