Kevin Pyles was arrested on felony charges related to violent threats he made towards a Phoenix synagogue. This briefly hit local news following his arrest but, thanks to court record requests and some digging, we were able to confirm Pyles’ affiliation with the neo-Nazi group Goyim Defense League.

Noteworthy: the then-chief of the Portland Police Bureau, Jami Resch—who authorized officers to obscure their name badges and personnel numbers in exchange for arbitrary numbers shortly before resigning less than six months into the position—is NOW the chief of the Springfield Police Department.

This numbering system is reminiscent of that used in 2020 Portland. Officers may be numbered but good luck trying to find the document that assigns a name to them anytime soon.

In Portland, it took over nine months for that information to be released.
