Last Tuesday, @jwolfe73.bsky.social, @jessrock.bsky.social, and I were sitting on the patio with just 200 whistles and zines saying “will we be able to give all these away” and “I guess if we do we can just order more”

Guess we answered that question

Wow, you guys!

1) We had well over 100 people come through

2) Because of generous volunteers we were able to fold 2500 zines and pair them with around 1500 whistles

3) This is now a weekly event at Nighthawk

4) Nighthawk offered to be a hub for whistle donations and distribution every day

We're back for another round of folding and whistle/zine distribution. This time we have 900 whistles to warn neighbors of ICE.

What we need: volunteers to print zines.
Connections with community organizers to distribute whistles. Hands to help fold.

So many people came out to this. Standing room only not just inside Nighthawk but also in their sizable patio. So many whistles and instructional zines were paired together and are going to be distributed across the city.

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

I live in a socialist utopia where the land is flat and I am within 1.5 blocks of 2 taquerias, a torteria, and a taco stand. Sometimes a taco truck parks on the end of the block where the nieves guy usually is. Can report that it’s as good as it sounds.
