Mara reached out to Nat, but her hands met only empty air as Nat twisted away. The other Aasimar’s face furrowed in worry. “I was just so afraid. About how they would corrupt you! And look! Look at you now! Your faith….your faith...I….!”

“What about my faith?” Her reply was chipped from ice. She was over the threshold of her door. She could close it on Mara now, end the night in an instant. But she couldn’t, not yet. You are afraid of so few things...

“No!” the words burst from Vola’s mouth before she could take them back. This was still the dream. Where in the four hells was she? Did that thing still have her? She whimpered, trying desperately to struggle against the paralysis. “Please...where’s Nat? Just let me speak to her.”

The aasimar frowned in confusion, sniffing back tears. Gently she stroked the half-orc’s face. Her friend’s eyes had become unfocused, staring at something that wasn’t there. “Vee, I’m here. I’m right here. Just like last time. I didn’t want to paralyze you, but last time…well.” She glanced at the remains of her desk lamp in the corner. Oh well. Controlling Vola’s panicked flailing before she hurt herself had been more important at the time. And she’d never liked that lamp anyway.

Vola has to this point been able to do some magic and enchantments under the radar and understate her accomplishments. She's created and maintained powerful magical weapons and as she will learn, you can't cast big magic with small intentions. To combat both her family and Marak she is going (5/?)

she's had to settle based on circumstances. As for her friends and love interest, she will get some Come to Shatrava moments.

Vola's biggest boons in the 2nd part of book 2 are her intellect and empathy. Both of which she will have to actually show and not keep hidden to her life with Nat.(4/?)

an 18 year old disaster. Even Innani is giving Nat tough love to help release her from the unrealistic expectations that the Church put on her. All of this will push Nat in the 2nd half of the book. She will find that "spark" to be a healer again and not just feel like (3/?)

So for Nat her negative traits in part 2 of One Bad Tuesday is that she is suffering from some low self-esteem and shutting out everyone except Vola. Even Vola is being waved off in regards to her work(1/?)
