~10 months ago (when I quit) I wanted a cigarette approximately every hour

~8 months ago (at the time of the quoted post) I wanted a cigarette several times a day

Now it's once every few days, maybe once a week, that the craving really hits. I bet that trend continues over time

I know from past relapses that a cigarette will feel AMAZING for about 45 seconds, then it will go back to feeling "bad for my cardiovascular system, mostly" - and I'll go back to wanting a cigarette every hour, instead of maybe 3x/day - and when I quit again I'll be at risk for another crying phase

The past 24 hours of quitting smoking have been miserable. I'm periodically miserable. Not even in the "craving a cigarette" kinda way.. but in a "can't stop crying and can't articulate why" kinda way

Still haven't smoked a cigarette, so. Success! 😭👍⭐

When he met someone in a bar one Friday night and swapped social media handles, he asked AI what his next move should be.
ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

If you haven't seen the AMC Interview With A Vampire show, it's SO GOOD. Both seasons are on Netflix, right now!

And if you're on Netflix anyway, I recommend anything by Mike Flanagan. Midnight Mass especially! The Hauntings of Hill House & Bly Manor are also v good

Do Recommend Edge of Sleep! Especially for the spooky season! Maybe check out the 'does the dog die' page if you've got strong triggers! This bad boy is jam packed with horrifying stuff. I had fun watching it.

I'm perplexed at watching pundits in the trades struggling to explain Tron Ares' disappointing opening.

Was it covid? Do people just not like science fiction? etc. etc.

The main reason is pretty obvious: Tron isn't a popular franchise. Nobody's interested in nostalgia for a failed 1980s project.
