Do you have an iPhone? I wonder if this is android vs. iPhone versions of the app

For me the abstract search is only searching words in abstract titles, and not author names or words in the abstract text, have you gotten an author search to work?

I'm trying to figure out my #GSAconnects2025 schedule and finding that the program still isn't searchable online or in the app. WTF???

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Congress has not authorized the use of military force.

Say NO to Trump’s loyalty oaths and extortion of our universities!

We will NOT throw our students, faculty, and staff under the bus to comply with undemocratic and partisan ideological agendas.

We've got hundreds of signatures in five hours... but if we can cross 1000 by morning when I send this to NSF that'd be great. The stories from past, current, and future applicants in the comments section are hearbreaking. Keep up the pressure, and please please sign!!!

NSF unexpectedly changed (at the last minute) who is eligible to apply for the Grad Research Fellowship, dropping 2nd year students. We started a petition to reverse this unfair change, Sign here:

This change without warning is devastating to a bunch of students who had the rug pulled out from under them! A 1-cycle warning, or even a warning a few months ago would have been game changing for a lot of junior scientists.

I can understand why NSF is limiting GRFP apps to undergrads and 1st year grad students .

What I can't why they didn't wait one cycle to implement after making the announcement.

But I do trust that the program officers are doing their best to keep science afloat under extraordinary conditions.

Wonderful news. A salutary reminder of the absolute benefits of scientific progress, and the absolute evil of conspiracist bollocks.

This is precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent — and media companies need to start standing up rather than capitulating to it.

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13

The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

A M8.8 earthquake just ruptured the subduction zone offshore Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula. This is one of the world’s truly huge earthquakes, and a triggered tsunami is currently traveling across the Pacific ocean.

This same fault ruptured on July 20th in a M7.4, and last August in a M7.1.

Silicon Valley VCs sit atop a system where federal and state governments spent more on basic research of all kinds than most other countries in the world combined, and then take the ideas that come out of that and take it the last mile. An important function, but they disproportionately benefit.

Is Marc Andreessen a thin-skinned lower-tier villain who lost it when people pushed back against his views or suggesting regulating his businesses.
Or is he a real man of the people, deeply concerned about the regular Trump voters in places like Iowa and Wisconsin?

The Yampa River, which is the only major free-flowing tributary of the Colorado River, has its headwaters near Steamboat Springs, and is a super special float (with great geology) through Dinosaur Nat'l Monument where it confluences with the Green River.

Are folks on here putting explicit statements about AI use in science (I'm specifically thinking about writing and coding) in research group expectations documents? I'm thinking about doing this and would love some examples of others' policies!
