The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

I blame 1950s American political scientists for that. They came up with this idea that since the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were both totalitarian regimes, they were essentially the same. One of the things I hate most about chomsky is that he created the notion that marxism-leninism was right wing so to deflect criticism on any far-left ideology that has done authoritarian and terrible things. Leftists should be blamed for the wrong things they've done so we can learn from it....

Kraut, as someone who lives with 2 dogs (we are not sure who owns who), it is as much a war crime like any other.

BUT there are more people liking dogs than politically active pro-Ukrainiaj crowd.

"Influencer hurt dog" is much more easily provable as truth than "he is Putin usufull idiot"

One thing I learned when studying how Czechoslovakia collapsed into communist tyranny was a split that occurred in the Czechoslovak left during the Nazi occupation. As part of the Molotov Ribbentrop pact, Stalin forbade European communists to engage in armed resistance against Nazi occupation.

2. Your thinking is historically wrong as if it was right both N. Korea and Vietnam would have collapsed under USAF bombardment in 1950s and 1960s.

3. Ukraine is producing more military equipment, much more than at any point post 1991.

A country of 35 milion, like Ukraine can easily sustain current lost rate for years IF THEY HAVE THE WILL TO FIGHT.

Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth lost up to 30% of population in wars between 1655 and 1667 and still was able to keep independence and most borders.

Read history and don't say stupid things.

Poland was still fielding a 1 milion men strong army in 1945 after losing 15 to 20% of our population.

In September 1939 alone we lost 120 000 soldiers minimum (Katyn alone added 50 000).

And that was not sometching extraordinarily.

Poles are proud of killing Nazis, even if we had to do it hand in hand with Soviets.

Although at that point Soviet army was not very Russian one as they had to patch up horrendous loses.
