I desperately wanted to do some pre-order bonus art for Yule Be Sorry, but after contacting a few artists, I realized I couldn't afford it.

So did I use gen AI?

NO.

I'm going to save up my money for the next launch or do a Kickstarter and buy art from real degenerates as God intended. 🏳️‍🌈

Our experience has taught us a lot. It's a hard balance sometimes. I personally enjoy when older people are enthusiastic about giving me life advice, even if I don't take it. I bet you're not overbearing about it.
Oh yeah, it's definitely a thing. Especially for minorities.
😆 No, I was just using your username! I promise!! 😂
What do you think, Jo? Too much? My wife says it makes the whole collection look like a Christmas thing, but I think I'm okay with that, because people will just read all the way to book six for it? Book four takes place at Fourth of July; they'll figure it out pretty fast.
A silhouette of a cis het couple sits on a bench. At the man's elbow, a silhouette of a dog begs for him to throw a ball. His name is Pancake, and the man, Chase, is trash for animals and will definitely throw the ball when he stops staring at Lizzie. Her telescope is nearby, and she will definitely go back to looking through it when she stops staring at Chase. There are trees and a waterfall, one of which is a Christmas tree with a present at the bottom, because it takes place in Timber Falls, which is a pun, but I did not mean it that way. Not initially. There's also fireworks. The collection is called Timber Falls Books 4-6 by Fiona West.
Desperately trying to incorporate an element from my Christmas book into the collection cover, and my choices are peaches, an Epipen, a piano, and a Christmas tree.

Maybe I can pretend part of the forest is a Christmas tree.

At least I got the dog. (His name is Pancake; he doesn't die. I promise.)

And if you don't have a writing community, you can join Charlie's! Or find a Discord! The first writing group I joined I only asked because a member left, and when I told them that, she stared and said she'd have welcomed me any time.

So no excuses. Find your people. It'll help. #writingcommunity
The real power of the writing community isn't that we can buy and hype up each other's books. It's that no one else in any other field can grasp what we're going through.

The books get done eventually. The process might not be pretty, but it gets done.

It gets done less painfully with community. 💜
This is so true. We were hiking last year, and we were laughing together as we passed another woman, and she just went, "Hello, happy smiling women!" And it especially made my wife feel seen. It was a reminder to embrace joy.
Never underestimate the power of small kindness.

To you, it may be a moment. To someone else, it could be the difference between despair and hope.

You don’t always see the ripples your actions make, but they move through the world all the same, one small gesture at a time.

I figured as a writer of horror that sales would be up this month, but I'm at a flat 0. Where are the horror lovers that don't mind a strong bisexual female MC that values friendship based in modern time with a touch of fantasy?

Ginger cat sits on a white sofa. He looks alert. A lighting fixture is behind his head like a halo.
I wanted to bring an air horn to express my dismay about any misgendering to our first holiday post-coming-out, but Wifey said no. 😬 Good luck to her! I hope it goes great!
She grew on me as well. Hated her at first. Never stopped thinking her relationship with Julian was weird, he clearly belonged with Garak.

And if you can get a vaccine, do it. I had Chik in Haiti in 2014, and I had joint pain for years afterward. I was pregnant at the time and just out of the first trimester, but could have had serious complications if I'd gotten it earlier.

Vaccines rule, basically.
With the exception of BJ Novak, I'll sign off on this.
No, I totally get it! I spent too long as an English major and forgot reading could be fun. 😅 I didn't really discover romance until I was in my thirties.

An illustration of Miss Major surrounded by candles with blue background and a famous quote of hers written in gold. The quote reads“I don’t need their permission to exist; I exist in spite of them. I want you to train and teach and love on and create families within my community and gender non-conforming people, so that we can understand that we have a culture, we have a history, we have a reason to be here. We have a purpose. We’re entitled to be loved, and seek happiness, and share that with the people that we care about.” -Miss Major Griffin-Gracy
