I personally find language change fin and interesting. Understanding how and why things shift in real time is fascinating. It lets me understand historical changes, like the grate vowel shift, even better.

Prescriptivism about language used in everyday life is a tool of control over people who are "different" and is a way to make them more of an out group and "other".

I know you don't mean it that way but unless it is for academic work or professional journalism it just doesn't matter.

Thats great and all but how would I know to check the website for a calendar holiday being moved? Its not a thing I would ever have even considered. Hopefully there are signs in places around town as well for thos who don't know to check.

In a perfect world that would be a healthy mental thing to do. However we live here and now. Cant address self actualization when food and shelter are still at risk.

We are one of the biggest economies in the world. Why are smaller States helping their people more?
We already know Newsom doesn't like homeless people. People have food stamps are probably in a similar category to him.

Had friends and other parts of the country to help me that their states are stepping up to assist food Banks and possibly use emergency funds for state local food stamp system.
Looked in the news in California. Saw uping police in stores and national guard deployed to help food banks.
