The Daily is committed to sanitizing Vought and ignoring what they regard as unsavory ideology. Because engaging with what is actually animating Vought would make it very hard to uphold the “normal politics” framework that defines much of mainstream political journalism.

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

Just to remind people, the reason that Trump wants to blow up CDC is pretty easy: they want people to die.

The combination of destroying rural areas to centralize population and removing weak populations seems to be part and parcel of their strategy to remake the welfare state.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

If events follow the usual course of events, a federal judge will correctly rule the firings illegal and SCOTUS will issue a stay on the shadow docket, allowing them to go ahead. The corruption of SCOTUS is off the charts.

Were you asking me? If so, the answer is that some pet vaccines have been observed to cause sarcomas at the injection site. It's rare but common enough that even smart veterinarians like ours make a point of not repeatedly injecting in the same spot.
